CLATTERING CARDS
During the weeks leading up to the exhibition “Sonische Scène” (Sonic Scene), Ken, Vaast, and Kris took daily screenshots of various news broadcasts. They selected some of these to use as images in a card game. During the exhibition, visitors could take a bike ride in the park: playing cards were attached to the spokes. This generated a clattering sound while riding. After each bike ride, people could write down their cycling experience on a postcard. The artists had special stamps produced to send the postcards to the address provided. For the image on the postcard, they created their own version of the artwork “Love” by American artist Robert Indiana. The artists used it to form the word “Velo.” ‘Velo’ means “bicycle” in Dutch. A collaboration with Ken Verhoeven and Vaast Colson.
