U-TURN

 

Although Ukraine and Russia are relatively small economies, some Belgian companies in the chemical, metal processing, furniture and food industries cannot avoid them for specific raw materials. Aluminum prices have skyrocketed as fears of a supply disruption caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine have stirred aluminum and energy markets. A piece of leftover aluminum from the artist's former studio, as a raw sculpture, has been offered as a certified work of art. The price of this artwork was partially aligned with the current price of aluminum per kg. All proceeds from this artwork went to the artist's friends who fled Ukraine.
