PISA ROAD

 

An act of vacuum cleaning as a pirate performance at the Zoek-Stadion project (Havenhuis, Port Authority, Antwerp, Belgium). Sucking up brass confetti, that was scattered on the floor as an installation of the work DIASPORA (2023). The vacuum cleaner simultaneously became display, container, pedestal and sculpture of the artwork DIASPORA. The nozzle of the vacuum cleaner is sealed. The artist was not on the Havenhuis payroll during the project and was not paid for his artistic contribution, while the cleaning company is paid by the Havenhuis.

A performance that probed the boundaries and differences between the artistic and economic worlds, by making the artwork disappear during the exhibition of which it was a part.

PISA ROAD is an anagram of DIASPORA.
